PO#29 - Managing potential head injuries

This Preferred Options (PO) paper covers the important topic of the management of head injuries occurring in matches. It highlights key points for match officials and describes the four principles of concussion management: "recognise, remove, recover and return". Match officials play a key role in the management of the first two of these. The fact that the Head Injury Assessment (HIA) process does not apply in any form to the community game is stressed.
