Update from the RFU: Revised Front Row Logic Tree

Message from Michael Patz, RFU Match Official Development Manager

Questions raised recently in the National Leagues and community game, have highlighted widespread confusion over teams being unable to replace a front row player, leading to uncontested scrums. We have therefore revised the front row logic tree to offer further explanation, which can be downloaded here.

The infographic is a reference guide prepared in consultation with practitioners and specialist professional staff, for sharing with your members and through your networks.

* Important note from the Society: Please remember that for the North West Intermediate Rugby Union Leagues (and Cups) that the Society covers, the requirement to play with 14 at the first time of asking does not apply, with exception of its Premier League. See here for more information (Rule 15).
