RFU article features YMO Nathan Power

Well done to Nathan Power, one of our Young Match Officials (YMO), who was interviewed for an England Rugby website article – “Young, Talented and in Control”.

The article highlighted that there are more than a thousand qualified YMOs, many of whom, according to England Rugby, show huge potential.

In common with other Societies we ensure that each YMO has a mentor. In Nathan’s case it is Jonathan Rooke who is providing valuable pitch-side support and helping him gain confidence.

Encouraging and supporting youngsters who express an interest in officiating has a big part to play in sustaining a supply of referees as well as providing the YMOs with valuable life skills and opportunities.
