Coronavirus Situation – Chairman’s Message

  • March 17, 2020

 A message from the Chairman

The Society Executive has been monitoring the Government; RFU; and Halbro NOWURIL advice with regard to the Coronavirus situation.  We had already decided to suspend the holding of all Society and Committee meetings and other gatherings but had not communicated that decision to the membership, pending receipt of further Government, and, in particular, RFU advice which might have a further bearing on the Society’s activities.  The processing sessions for DBS clearance and the Fitness Tests which had been announced will not take place.

The RFU has now suspended all rugby activity from 17th March until 14th April.  Rugby activity includes Club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses, clearly includes refereeing.  The RFU will continue to review the situation as it develops.

The Society Executive will seek to manage the affairs of the Society as required during the suspension of rugby activity. Please visit the Society website frequently for further news.  Please also read e-mails and other messages from Whostheref.  We will aim to keep you informed of any significant developments.

Stay safe and healthy.
