Nominations for Society Officers – closing date 1st May
Nominations for Society Officers’ positions, duly proposed and seconded, must be received by the Honorary Secretary by 1st May 2019.
Society members will be aware that we are in the process of incorporation as Manchester & District Rugby Union Referees’ Society Ltd. It is anticipated that the Society will have been incorporated by the time of the Annual General Meeting, which is due to be held on Tuesday 4th June 2019.
Under the present Rules, nominations for Society Officers are required to be made 21 days before the date of the AGM. Also under the present Rules, a period of 14 days’ notice of the AGM is required to be given. This allows the notice of the AGM to include the names of the nominees; their proposers; and their seconders. For an AGM on 4th June, the closing date for receipt of nominations would be 14th May 2019.
Under the Articles of Association of Manchester & District Rugby Union Referees’ Society Ltd. The notice of the AGM (which will continue to be held not later than the second Tuesday in June) is required to be given 21 days before the AGM and receipt of nominations is required by 1st May in each year.
In the particular circumstances of this year, and in anticipation of incorporation before the AGM, it is proposed that arrangements for the AGM are made in accordance with Articles of Association of Manchester & District Rugby Union Referees’ Society Ltd., which require nominations, duly proposed and seconded, to be received by the Honorary Secretary by 1st May 2019
